I have been communicating with Gerald from IPSF and he suggested, for my 32G Biocube, to use Tang Heaven Green in the refugium space I have in the media basket.
He said that it is superior to Chaeto as a fuge species.

Looking for input here from other's experiences with Tang Heaven Green.
Thanks

First off, everything eats Ulva, so you have option of nutrient recycling as well as nutrient export. Ulva is hardier and grows faster. When you receive Ulva, it is in a flattened sheet that tends to stop up suction strainers on pumps. I suggest rubbing Ulva into the basket chamber edges to promote attachment.

it's ulva

I think the superiority/desire of chaeto is because of how fast it grows, and the faster chaeto grows the faster it pulls nitrates. In reality, most macroalgae species are good for sumps since them growing means you'll have nitrates being reduced.

idpf tang haven green is just ulva, i don't think they add anything to it other than that. tang haven red is gracilaria

the biggest benefit is that ulva is something you can put back into the tank to feed your tangs. I was fortunate with mine and they'll take chaeto but most of them wont touch it

so i guess in the end
Chaeto:
+grows faster
+more nutrient export
+better home for pods and amphies
-tangs might not eat it
-becomes invasive if uncontrolled
-can get wrapped around pump impellers

Ulva:
+can refeed to tangs and other inverts
+also good source of nutrient export
-hard to get to stick
-can wrap around pump entrances

If you want tang food, go with Ulva. I've never seen a tang eat Chaeto.

Also, I've never kept Ulva, but I've heard it's a fast grower, possibly as fast as Chaeto.
