tang in 90 gallon

A couple things: There's no such thing as a docile maroon clown, luckily they stay close to their home and won't terrorize a whole tank. What tang you get is a personal preference, I'd research them first. A Powder Blue will definitely be the tank boss. IMO, I'd stock all the other fish you want to have before I put in a tang. I don't know how old your tank is, but, again IMO, I'd wait until the tank is a year old before adding a tang and you'll greatly increase it's chances of acclimation. So, to sum things up, make a list of the fishes you want and then stock them according to least aggressive to most aggressive.

Bristle tooth tangs stay smaller. Kole tangs as well. Those would be good for a 90. No way would I out a powder blue in a 4ft tank of any size. But that is me.

I have had in the past a yellow and hippo together in a 75. Once they grew too large, I replaced them with smaller versions. Breaks the "rules", but I like tangs.

yeah im pretty much done with fish.. i forgot to mention my diamond goby.. this will be my last fish. the tank has been running a month shy of two years. i just wanted to see if people with similar tank sizes would post their successes and failures with different species of tang. ive done alot of research but i still like to see experience of fellow reefers :)

should i trust an online source like live aquaria to buy a tang or should i stick to the lfs so i can examine what im buying and make sure the fish is eating.

I have three tangs in a 100 for several years now and they are doing great. Sailfin, Regal, Goldrimmed.

Wow, all 4 of the LFS with in 30 min of my house have kole tangs pretty normally.

have you ever gotten livestock from them? if so have you had any DOA's?

I have received livestock from Live Aquaria. I ordered some corals and fish from them. Everything arrived looking great. If I had an issue, they would take care of it immediately.

I have bought corals from them and they were all very healthy . Would highly recommened them.

im glad to hear they are reliable with such fragile animals. i will definitely give them a try in the near future. is there a a way to see the livestock before they ship? ive seen some websites offer that

If you buy Divers Den fish, they are wysiwyg. Otherwise, I think they just have a representation. As said before, though. Don't hesitate. If there are any issues, the customer service is top notch.

Hey guys! Today(well yesterday tecnically) my parents and i made a 68 mile trip to manhattan aquariums. I have to tell you this place is AMAZING. I found out about it from new york steelo's website. Long story short i found a beautiful yellow eye kole tang at about 2 1/2" and bought it and i also bought a whole bunch of coral!! I will definitely keep you guys posted on how he does. Wish me (and the fish) luck!! :)
