Now that i have you looking with title like that i have a small Aptasia prob twanty or so. So im looking to buy a few of those little things that just eat them and die. But i have two onyx clowns and a yellow tang i know that will pick at them. Is it ok to but those three fish in a 20g for a week with a power head and heater?

i did the tang and clowns eat it =(

slightly bigger then a inch

no tangs in a 20 long ....get some joes juice for 10 bucks ,,just do a few at a time thought or your PH will get wacky..

Keep in mind its not long term just for a few days

If it's that small, it should be just fine in a 20 for a little while. When I started out I had a 20 gallon and got a 1.5" convict tang. He lived in the 20 gallon with my small talbot damsel and red headed fairy wrasse just fine for a number of weeks while my 125 gallon cycled.

I had my purple tang in my 29G for a week while my tank cycled, and he was 4" at the time. He was quite sedate with one or two tantrums over the week, but he came out of it fat and happy to get back to his bigger tank.
imo the tang will be absolutely fine for a week,
people are just spouting off what they've read and know the standard machine gun response "no tangs in a 20G" without asking the pertinent questions.
You are talking about a 1 inch fish, for a week in a 20g fish tank, which is HUUUGE to a 1 " fish

It will be fine temporarily. Such a touchy topic but its because people don't use their brain. I wonder how people think the tang gets to the local fish store and lives there in their 10-20 gallon tanks before they are sold to them? Seems they are ok with shipping them in 5 inch diameter baggies but not ok with them in 20 gallons. It will be perfectly fine and you've already stated that its temporarily. Good Luck

My bad ,,20L for a few will be fine give her a great hide out , nice covered area of live rock. or even a plastic flower pot , less stress the better

I bought a tang that was housed in a 30g last year and it had hole in the head and looked horrible. They need space to swim back and forth to be happy IMHO. If is the size of a quarter and its temporary then that would be fine but other wise I would say NO tang in 20gal

A week is no biggie... I kept a blue hippo in my solana for a month while my new tank cycled it was about 1.5" long and it was the happiest healthyiest tang I have ever owned... When I had my 500 I could not keep a tang for the life of me..:( now I got like 7 in a 175 gal tank that's only 5ft long but they have a field day..;) just make sure to feed it alot and keep it fat and healthy... I think I always starved mine to death..:(

+1...i had a scopas in a 20L for over a year before selling it, and a buddy of mine housed a yellow in a 30g. imo it will be fine for the temp hold just give a place to hide to reduce stress to a minimum. good luck

For only 20 aptaisia, use Joe's Juice or kalk paste. If you truly have an infestation - hundreds and hundreds where you can't even get to them, then consider a predator.

I found a copperband to be best if you can find one that eats them, as not all do. Also, the one I had that ate aptaisia wasted away after it had finished off the aptaisia, it wouldn't eat anything else. I had peppermints that didn't touch them. I've had copperbands that didn't touch them. Berghia nudis are supposed to work but I have never tried them.

Go the Joe's Juice route if possible before trying all sorts of livestock that may or may not work.
