Can I keep a tang in my 40 gallon?
He’s for sure never go hungery

Tang police gonna lock you up! I’ve seen tangs in smaller tanks. You can prob get a small one and re home after he gets bigger

I would not suggest putting any tang in a 40. They will outgrow the tank and likely kill the other fish and by then you're attached to the fish and it's a hassle getting it out of the tank. NTY

A gem tang will def need a large tank and not worth the price and stress trying to catch it if you're just gonna rehome the fish

upgrade to a 75 if possible and then get a tomini or a kole
