The baby tang has somehow gotten an injury right in front of his eye, as near as I can tell two deep scrapes and the area is very swollen. He's swimming fine, eating like a horse and doesn't appear too bothered. I was already dosing VitaMarin-M, is there anything else I should be doing to help him heal?
Garlic? Something else?

Thanks Jay! Yes water's a bit hazy, i had just added marine snow when he (she? How can i tell?) let me catch a picture

Ps what should i do if it does turn red? The edges do appear a bit red now

Ouch. If fish is healthy, it should heal on it own. I wouldnt (and I dont believe jay did either) recommend adding any meds to tank. If you want to assist with healing- Melafix will work. . But see how it looks tomorrow before you consider even that step

Follow up question- how long do these injuries typically take to heal? Weeks, months?
One week in: wound is no longer red, appears slightly smaller, but has tufts of white growth. Fish appears completely unaffected. I assume this is bacteria consuming the dead/injured tissue? Or something to be concerned about...?

Apologies but I have taken 125 pics on my phone and he just won't stay still.
