Tang injury infection

Hi all,

My tang decided to go after my Foxface because he is a jerk and obviously not smart. He got spiked and I thought he/she was going to die. He did not die from spikes but I noticed yesterday his injury looks to be infected. It's kind of greyish. I have been trying to catch him and it's impossible. I normally have a ton of GC on hand but I just used the rest on my QT crew. I ordered more but it's going to be a hot bit before it gets here.

I only have these that would help:

Furan
Methylene blue
Focus

Will focus and furan binded to food help? Can I do this in my DT?

Is the fish in a DT?

A methylene blue bath or acriflavine bath would be great to help prevent infection of spreading since they are antiseptic treatments. However you don't want to dose either in a DT since they stain the water heavily. If you cant catch the fish it will pretty much be a battle of immune system VS infection. Just add vitamins to foods. Outside of antiseptic baths or antibiotics in a QT I don't think there is much you can do.

Yes sadly I cannot catch him or I would toss it in my QT. I guess it will be a test to see how healthy he is.

Wait until the lights have been out for a couple of hours in both the tank and the room. Use a small flashlight to locate the Tang. Hold the light in the Tang's eyes. It will mesmerize it making it easy to net.

Picture would help. In an otherwise healthy fish, physical injuries usually heal on their own. I've had gouges many times on my tangs. If you feel treatment is warranted, and can catch it, methylene blue and furan are two ingredients in NFG powder that I have found to be an excellent general medication for injury and infections.

He has actually been spiked before but it healed up fine. I am terrible with pictures but could potentially get a video. Will try later. No new recent additions in 6+ months. All fish in my DT have went through 6 weeks QT/treatment. I have some fish in my QT now that will go in next week.

Update. Looks fine today! I think he may have scraped it and made it looks grayish yesterday which looked like infection. I think he is fine. Thanks for help
