Sorry I've asked many questions about this same fish...I didn't see a way to edit my old post with new questions. titled "Is flashing always bad"..

Quick review/background:
I have 2 new fish (going on 4 weeks now), currently still in QT. Treated for Flukes during their 2nd week here. The yellow is a decent size, maybe 4" or so. The Kole is small, only about 2".

I did a fresh water dip on the yellow to confirm flukes (the Kole went hid behind my filter and I couldn't dip him), I treated with Prazipro, 7 days later I did a 2nd FW dip on both fish, changed 5g of water (20g tank) and retreated with prazipro. The dip was clear, nothing came off the little guy and I'm not 100% sure but I though I saw only 1 thing from the yellow...although, sand had gotten in my FW dip container thanks to the Kole...

They have been fine all along, other than the flashing the yellow was doing before treatment, he has been pretty freaked out since day one, especially if there is any activity near the tank, but he's calmed down mostly...

Last night I noticed him darting around the tank for no reason, no one was near the tank. I had given the purple seaweed about an hour before and they had just started eating it finally.
So I shut off the light, but noticed he seemed a little sporadic, breathing a little heavy and then hiding (hiding is his norm when I'm near the tank). I go grab my phone to video him and when I get back 2 seconds later, he seems normal, still hiding, them swimming around grazing..nothing out of the ordinary. So I assume he was just freaked out for minute for whatever reason...maybe the purple seaweed got him really excited.

This morning he's bopping around a little frantic again, almost looks like when they graze and bounce off things as they pick algae or whatever, except he's doing this to nothing, just in the middle of the tank. He's darting around again and then normal again, on and off. I did just turn the light on in the room, so I thought that he might just be startled, but as I write this, I see him still acting this way, crazy then normal.

The kole is fine, although a little scared of what the yellow is doing, he's clearly trying to stay out of his way.

Could the yellow be getting restless in this small tank? I know it's not big enough for him right now...but his future is a 215g.
Is this a sign of something? He looks fine otherwise, he's eating fine, no flashing, shaking etc. nothing visibly on him. Breathing has been normal other than the few seconds last night...

He's still super skittish around people, my son was standing in front of the tank talking to me and swinging his arms the other night and I see the tang having a meltdown in the tank, darting back and forth quickly, completely freaked out. It's my thought that he was wild caught and sent to me with little tank time in between...not sure, just a theory.
I feel bad his tank isn't big enough yet, but QT is where he needs to be until I know 100% that he's okay.

Also, my previous post (if you can find it) talks about a spot on his tail fin and 2 spots on the dorsal fin of the Kole. These did not come off in the FW dip or during the 2 treatments with prazipro. They did not spread, there is no sign of any fin rot or bacterial infections etc. nothing at all, the Kole seem completely healthy since day one, he didn't even show signs of Flukes like the yellow.

Thank you and sorry this is so long!!

Oh and my Ammonia is 0, Nitrates 5. Nitrites 0 PH 7.9
salt-temp everything is good. I added some carbon today to remove traces of prazipro just in case and will be doing a water change later, once the water is warm enough.

Yeah, some tangs do not like small tanks at all. Sometimes it's like they a manic, pacing back and forth in a short/small tank. I agree with @HotRocks when he suggests a 40 breeder as a minimum for tangs.
Happy Thanksgiving :)

Yes 40 is the minimum size I would want to have a tang in for QT. Some do much better in 55 depending on size and genus. I understand though not everyone has room for large QTs.

Yeah, don't have the space for a 40, I don't think anyway...I'll have to measure :) He will go into a 215, that should make him more than happy! Although, my 2 clowns have been alone in there and have started wandering and hanging out on the other side, sometimes separately, I'm hoping they aren't aggressive toward my 2 new tangs when I add them, they're going to have learn that the entire tank is not their territory!

I won't be getting anymore Tangs after these 2, provided they survive. I'm hoping the yellow learns to except people walking by.

I have a 75g freshwater, a 215 salt and a biocube 16 SW too. My husband has a 200 in his office...my son a 75 in his room and my daughter wants a bigger tank in hers too, so we've used up all of the tank space around here...presumably.

So a 40g breeder is 36" across? I could probably replace the 20. But what about a 20g long?

I'm slowly stocking the 215, so I'm wondering if I should up the QT size for future fish as well? I'm not sure what I'm going to add yet, I don't usually buy them very large, probably not as big as the Tang right now. I just figured a 20g was good enough for any QT fish....although, I haven't considered needing to QT after being in he general population and when they are larger...what do people do about that? I've never had sick fish until the Flukes pair arrived.

20 is usually a great size for a hospital/QT. Makes the meds easy to do the math, water changes, etc. I keep one dry with all the equipment shrink wrapped ready to go. Also keep a bag of Fluval BioMax, HOB foam pad, and foam bubbler pad in the sump so it's ready at a moments notice for the QT.
And I painted the back, bottom and both ends black/dk blue. It seems to keep the fish calmer without the mirroring or motion from the surrounding room blocked out.

I wish I thought to paint this QT , I ended up using the kids construction paper on the bottom, back and sides :) It was a temporary solution, seemed to help the Tang stop fighting his own reflection, I assume he can no longer see that.
