Tang mouth disease ID

Hey guys. This is my first tang and he’s got some weird issue with his mouth. There’s a weird sore and it looks like his lips are breaking down. He also doesn’t like to close his mouth. Im not familiar with diseases other than parasites, I’m looking for an ID and suggested course of action. Thanks!

Looks like a bacterial infection to me. They graze rocks and glass all day, so a scrape or mouth injury is not super uncommon. That appears to be infected. May not heal without moving the fish to a QT and treating with antibiotics.

Kanaplex combined with any sulfa based antibiotic is where I would start. API triple sulfa or sulfaplex.
