Hello all,

Hoping to get some advice. Just received an order of fish that included an
Algae blenny, Tomini tang and a few other smaller fish

Everyone has been in a quarantine tank for 3 days so far. Just noticed a wound on the tomini tang and not sure if this could be uronima or a bite from the algae blenny as hes pretty big himself and I have seen him lunge at other fish a couple times.

Ive read formalin(formaldehyde 37%) should be used for uronima but i also read it shouldn't be used with open wounds.

In a separate tank Ive had a new pair of clowns for 2 weeks and the smaller male now has white blotches on his face that developed about a week after getting him. Unsure if it might be brook or velvet.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Tangs are not really prone to Uronema infections. This looks more like a possible injury with secondary bacterial infection.

Chloroquine is a better choice for Uronema as it also deals with other protozoans. I've used formalin to treat external Uronema in seahorses and seadragons.
