Tang ? Or should I say Tangs ?

I have a 240 gallon reef tank that has been cycled for 6 months. I currently have 2 clowns and 2 anthias in there. My questions are I want to add 2 yellow tangs, 1 hippo tang and a Naso that I have in my 75 gallon tank. Can I or should I add them all at once? Should I go slow with a couple here and there? If so, what order?

IMHO I would wait for the tank to mature a little more and if you have a good skimmer then do it if you wish. That to early in a tanks life to add 4 fish at once. Also, IMO, I'd NEVER put 4 tangs in a 75 gallon!

I believe it's a 240 gallon.

If they are Already all together in same tank, then go ahead and add them all at once.

We have a few tangs in our 150G. I myself would put the Naso and the Hippo first, the Naso being mello, the then two YT's. And I would also question putting two YT's in the same tank? for sure if you did i would defenitly introduce those two at the same time.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I have one Tang now in a 75. I want to buy 3 more to add to my 240 along with the Naso out of my 75.

Yea your safe adding those Tangs to the big tank. I would add 3 Yellows though and not just 2, they get along better in bigger groups.

I've always been told have them in odd number groups 3,5,7 ect.

And yes add them all at once

I have an old hippo, and yellow tang in my 190. Added a large (4 inch) two spot bristle mouth recently. The hippo ignored him but the yellow took 2-3 days to accept him. Now after a fee months they are buddies. Never did it but from what I read if you want to add several yellow then add them at once and of the same size. They should establish a pecking order.

Its best if they are all added at the same time, there will be no territorial disputes.

I have 3 yellow tangs, all added separately and in different sizes... The are all good buddies ao far and have ben there close to 1.5 years, maybe Im just lucky heard its better to have them in odd numbers.

I would add the Yellow tang(s) in last since they are a little more territorial with other tangs.

Some people disagree with this method, but it's worked well for me, the new fish I introduce are very small compared to my other fish, this means they don't feel threatened by the new comers and hence do not feel the need to defend their turf.

I recently introduced a small convict tang into my 1100L and my 1 spot, two bar fox face and naso completely ignored him. They get on really well now

Well I added 3 tangs. 1 yellow 1 hippo and 1 powder blue. I tried to catch my Naso that is in my 75 with no luck. I will be removing rock and doing a large water change Thursday to get him out. Wish me luck.

good luck! I probably wouldn't have added all three at once but your tank is large enough, it will probably be ok.....if you have any beneficial bacteria laying around, I might add a bit

Well I finally caught the Naso out of the 75. I waited to put him in the 240 until only the moonlights were on. The powder blue is the only one that is giving him issues. I hope he calms down soon.

So the fighting is over, it only lasted about an hour. Every one is behaving now.
