I currenly have 1 yellow tang, 1 bristle tooth tang and a lawn mower blenny in a 20g long quarantine tank. They have been in there for 5 days with no copper or meds. Everyone is eating great and looks good.
The LPS I purchased them from does run copper in their system and they all lived there for 10-14 days.
Should I still leave them in quarantine for 6 weeks?

Did you ask them at what level the keep the copper? Or better yet get a water sample to test the copper level?

I prophylactically treat all fish, as I don't really trust any LFS treatment.

Theoretically if they were in copper at the therapeutic level for 10-14 days they should be free of ich/velvet.

You still need to consider other things they may have been exposed to but not necessarily treated for. Brook, Uronema, flukes, intestinal parasites, bacterial infections etc.

In short I would observe them for several weeks in QT if you don't plan to treat any further unless symptoms arise.

+1 ^^^ The only QT you can truly trust is you own. Shops have hundreds of fish to watch over; you have only a few. The chances that they made an error are tremendous.

At the very least leave them in QT for another month if you plan on only doing observation. It’s the least you can do to marginally preserve the health of your tank,. It’s how I’ve done it and have been lucky I guess. BUT .... I always run them through 2 general cure or prazi treatments and freshwater dip upon arrival.

Thanks for the comments it really does help.
Would a general cure be a good idea since they are a captive audience right now? Cant really hurt right?

It cannot and will not... just do it. If they are eating and all is well... go ahead.

Great idea. Dose and then wait 5-7 days. Do a 25% water change and then dose again. Wait 5-7 days and then do another 25% water change. Observe for 7-10 days for symptoms. ;)
