Can you guys help me ID what my Tang has? Im gonna guess internal parasites. Its been in a quarantine tank for 20 days because of Ich but im not sure what this stuff is that is starting to show up. It looks as if the skin is peeling off his face and also as dots along the side of his body. It's eating well and doesn't show any real abnormal behavior.

It has some pretty bad HLLE developing. You need to feed it a proper diet daily including seaweed Nori on a clip soaked in Selcon and VitaChem. He should have this nori everyday while in QT Also feeding the small New Life Spectrum brand pellets are really good for them along with some Spirulina flakes. Needs better diet! Secondary issue looks an external parasite. There are no indications here of internal parasites. Someone better than me at it, can probably ID the external issue besides the HLLE but a better more focused pic would really help.

Yeah it was hard getting a pic of it. You may be right though, it could be HLLE as it just looks like the skin is eroding.

There is no question the fish is suffering from HLLE. There is a question though of the other things that are pictured that look more like flukes, or maybe lymphocystis. Have you done a freshwater dip recently? You could do one and see if things fall off it.

Cool thanks. I’ll give it a try and see what happens
