I moved a Maculiceps Tang that had Ich to a quarantine tank so i could start a fallow period for my display tank. I treated with Cupramine for 2 weeks and the Ich went away. I've ran carbon and done large water changes to remove the Cupramine. The fish was eating fine before and during the copper treatment and for about a week or so after. But a couple weeks ago it started only nibbling at algae sheets or other food it had been eating. I haven't seen it eat for at least a week. The two Anthias I have in quarantine with it are eating fine. The other fish I had in quarantine died shortly after I moved them to quarantine and started the Cupramine treatment.

Any recommendations on what I can do to get it eating again? I haven't any seen any dangling poop so if it has internal parasites it's not readily apparent. I've tried soaking the algae sheets and krill junks in garlic and Seachem Vitality with no luck.

Thanks.

What are you trying to feed it?
How is the breathing and swimming behavior of fish?
did you change lighting, scape or temperature?

At this point try everything! Tangs often don't last long once they aren't eating. Gut enriched live brine, ogo, caulerpa, nori, formula one flake, PE mysis, and frozen cyclopeeze are all things I would suggest seeking out and giving a shot.

Copper can suppress eating response. It may take a little time out of copper to start eating.

What's your ammonia at?

Nothing has changed in the quarantine tank in terms of lights or scape(using PVC). Have been trying LRS Fish and Herbivore Frenzy frozen, Julian Sprungs Algae green and red, Formula Two flakes. Things that it was eating before it’s not eating now. Just have the in tank ammonia alert, have not tested with test kit though. It hides in the PVC a lot but it was doing that when it was in the display tank. Has always only came out from hiding to eat.

I'd zone-in on its breathing. Watch the gills for anything rapid.

Usually the day before a Tang croaks.... its fins stay FLARED out ..... you can tell the health of just about any fish by if their fins stay flared or mostly stay relaxed

Flared fins and rapid breathing gills are the grim reaper moving in and it probably wont last another 12-24hrs.

But if the fins are relaxed and its eating a lil.... theres hope
