I feel like I have the worst luck when it comes to fangs. I purchased a Naso Tang about 2 weeks ago. Yesterday I came home and he was very stressed. I examined him and noticed that he had a patch on his stomach and fin (pictures attached). I did a water change and dosed the water with prazipro. I did some research and didn’t see anything that matched the pictures. I watched him and he turned back to his normal colors and was active again. However I came home today and found him stressed again with dark colors. Any advice or anyone know what it could be?

Looks like he’s in a bright area with not much hiding space. Maybe lower the light by darkenping some of the sides to help him feel more secure?

His eating is good he’s not a big eater like my other fish. I was swimming fast but not anymore but he’s still swimming around. No heavy breathing

Low or no light in the QT. I usually just use the ambient light from the room's windows. Wrap the tank, except for the front glass, with some newspaper, etc. to give the fish a bit of privacy. Toss in a couple of those plastic aquarium plants. Low stress is good. Add some Beta Glucan to the fish's diet. Really good for the fish's immune system. Here's an article on BG:

There is a window across the room from the tank do you think I should keep it closed?

If you are asking if direct light coming in from the window and shining directly on the tank is a problem, I'd say probably. Strong light from any source freaks out fish. Indirect light that is dimmed a bit is perfect for keeping fish in a QT or new tank nice and calm while acclimating. You can slowly increase light as the fish adapts to the new environment.

Naso tangs can get blotchy from time to time. I had one for 7-8 tests and it would sometimes be covered in white-ish blotches, mostly right as the tank lights turn on.

so unfortunately the fish did not make it. Im not sure what happened he had been in quarantine for 3 weeks with no problems and was eating fine and i didn't notice anything wrong with him until 2 days ago.

I think if you dosed the prazipro you should dose it once a day my blonde naso did this in qt and I got worked up about it and put him in the dt. You should be good if he is still stressed move him to dt

may I ask where did you purchase the fish? He could have been sick when you purchased him.
World wide coral in Orlando. The did a feeding and he was the first one who went to the food was eating he looked amazing so I picked him.
