I bought a juvenile vlamingi tang about 2 weeks ago and now I noticed his stomach looks pinched. She is swimming fine(but not as active as before). She eats some pellets but not all. Just concerned of what this might be. Im feeding nori but now she wont take any of it. Btw its a 20g long reef tank with 10g sump.

Probably has worms or a parasite that is discouraging her from eating, my old cowfish looked starved even though he ate like a pig. A 20g is too small for that tang so she might be stressed from that aswell. Pretty sure general cure soaked food works but I'm not sure of the correct measurements.

I using my 20g rightnow until she gets bigger, and then im putting her in my 150g mixed reef. I dosed some imagitarium parasite remedy. Will this be enough or should i use something else? Thank you for the fast response

Naso Vlamingi get HUGE, but small juveniles are OK in small tank. I have a 2" one in my grow-out 29 QT. Naso tangs can be tricky when small. Key is to feed them as much and as frequently as they will eat.

Yeah im excited to see how big she gets. Hopefully i can solve this problem before its to late.

FOOD is the word.
Time to address the diet. I had similar with a Naso and turned it around to plump in under a month. Feed at minimum:

Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract.
Formula 2 flake and frozen
LRS Herbivore diet
Spirulina brine shrimp
New Life Spectrum pellets
Mysis shrimp
small plankton

Do add both selcon vitamin and garlic extract to its' food alternating of course.
