Hey always wanted to start a thread on my own tank builds. The trouble is that I suck at posting pictures.

I can post them the easy way here but not the good way.

Oh well Here I try.

Grant

Started with goldfish at age 2.
Then guppies at age 5
Then saltwater at 16.

Been hooked ever since, 17 long years.

I tried to upload those pictures, but so far no luck.

Man this thread is going to be bad if I cannot upload photos.

Worked in Des Monies as their Senior Aquarist for a while.....hahaha worked. Man some people have it so easy, was fun.

Look at Pic 3, you think you have skimmers, look at these. This was about 6 years ago, when down drafts were the latest craze in skimmers.

Tried to post pics of Beau Rivage, while there.....but a no go.

This was back in 1999, I was Lead Biologist in charge of the tanks there.
4 10,000 gallon tanks that were the walls of the 5 diamond restaurant. Never ate there, too much $$. I was making $22,000 a year. If you want to make money, most marine biologists jobs do not pay very well.

But on to the next job...

I should have put in order but oh well,

From 16-20, I did this all as a hobby.

My first job was in internship at Henry Doorly Zoo, in Omaha, NE.

Very nice zoo, and great aquarium.

I learned from my mentor and great friend Mitch Carl.

When I graduated I moved to the Aquarium of Amercias in New Orleans, LA.
I was lead biologist in charge of jellies, yes jellyfish. These critters are the hardest thing to keep in aquariums.

I then moved to Biloxi, MS to work for Beau Rivage. (Part of Mirage Resorts)

I then worked for Mirage for less than a week, and then went to Mandalay Bay Resort, In Las Vegas, NV

Then to Des Moines, for Blank Park Zoo.

Then back home to Sioux Falls, SD.

Where I lived and moved away from and moved back.

Well,

ON WITH THE PICTURES....

Here are pictures from my internship in 1997 at Henry Doorly Zoo's Scott Aquarium.

You think you have a large sandfilter, try this one in pic #2.

#1 and #4 are frags tanks.
#3 is beach exhibit with large corals
#5 is one of main coral tanks.

Is this worth reading and seeing.

Should I go on? I will start soon with pictures of my tanks, but nice to see pictures I have not looked at in quite some time.

Man I am old.

Grant

hey tang, looks good but I found it easier to load with photobucket. It's free and you can upload a lot of pics. Cant wait for more!

Amazing work Grant....although you say it doesnt pay you well, wouldnt you rather a job that you really love?

Hey Grant liking it so far. Try opening a photobucket account at photobucket.com. Once logged in, there will be a big blue "upload images and video" button. Click it and find the pics on your computer that you want to upload. You can click on more than one pic at a time if you hold down control (Ctrl). When you have picked the photos hit "open". Once they are finished loading, hit the "return to album" button at bottom of page. Now you can put your mouse over the pic and a drop down menu appears. Copy the section that says IMG Code (Ctrl C). Paste it in the comment box in R2R (Ctrl V)
