Tangs in a new tank, aggression, need advice

For sure I was warned about the PBT and I know they are ich bombs. He's for sure cool.. coolest guy in the tank.

I got a smaller powerhead now and need to fix the sand bed again :)

Tank looks very new :/

What are you using to test params?

Just be prepared for qt, you'll have to move quickly. Beautiful fish, by the way!

Salifert for Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate
Hanna ULR for Phos
Hanna probe for Ph
Red Sea Pro for Alkalinity, Calcium and Magnesium

I hate algae. Those are Marco Dry Rocks. When the tank completed cycling I did a 70% water change and did another 15% a week later.

I used pure ammonia to cycle the tank.

This primary focus will be Acros. I want as pristine an environment as I can get.

BTW thanks for the compliment on the fish. I didn't have a hand in their current appearance but I'm going to do everything I can to keep them that way!

Good to hear :)

Dismissing the QT for a second.. everything else sound good man. Tank is a good size and I think that you'll be more than okay for a bit. 4FordFamily seems to really know his crap when it comes to tangs, I've seeked him out before. But like I said, minus the QT, I think you're just fine and you just have to wait it out and feed heavily and maybe cause a distraction, that's all! Good luck!

FWIW... I get it. Some guy comes on here with a profile that was created a couple of months ago. Starts asking questions about tangs. I created a profile on reef central a couple of years ago. I saw recently on a BRS video that they are on a site called reef2reef so I figured it must be a great site. It is. My first aquarium (freshwater) I got many years ago when I was 13. I set up my first saltwater tank in 2004. I'm not saying I know much but I'm not some guy who just got a 40B and threw some salt and tangs in it ;)

No one knows everything, I sure in Hell don't LOL. I have only been doing this for a year. I would like to think that I know a bit because of all the mess ups I have made ntm that I live, eat breath and sh** R2R LOL. I'm also at my LFS literally every other day. I'm actually thinking about picking up a part time job there so I can help beginners but also to learn more.

The last thing I want to keep fish who quite honestly don't belong in our tanks and have them dying on us.

For sure don't want to hurt the fish. Well I went to the store and pick up my first four frags :) all DPS, of course :)

So, as promised on the update. Humble pie here we come. Very mild ich on the powder blue. He acts normal, still eating like a horse. The 55gallon QT is almost ready to accept the crew for medication and DT fallow period.

So, I know a decent amount about coral but admittedly I don't know much about fish.

I added some more frags a little over a week ago... I'm not saying it was the culprit but it's an interesting coincidence.

Anyway, it's black ick so I don't think I'll have to quarantine. Going to test the DT with prazipro.
