I setup a new aquarium in december and i have never been able to keep any tangs for more then two weeks.

I have a 180 gallon tank and 75 sum pump.

Any ideas why?

What fish are you able to keep successfully? Any physical symptoms on them?

Definitely going to need more information on your tank before anyone can help you out with this. How about starting with what type of Tang, your water parameters, other livestock in your tank , how they are doing etc....

Your tank isn't ready... patience is the key
+1
And when it's ready be sure to get a healthy specimen and make your (lfs) shows you that is eating nori / Seaweed.

Not brine shrimp... nori. :)

Some tangs are very hard to take care of others are almost indestructible. They do typically have a wide variety of diet as well. Not just Nori. I have 3 tangs in my tank. All of different body types and only 1 actually eats the Nori clips I put in.
