So my yellow tang, hippo, naso and the rest of my tank won't eat the nori I am giving. Using two little fishy green seaweed. Even tried opening a new packet and seem like they aren't eating it. They are eating brine, flake, mysis, pellets yet refusing nori.

Mine much prefer the red to the green.
If your tangs are younger they may prefer and do better with a meatier diet. Especially the Hippo.

Mine go nuts for Hikari seaweed extreme pellets.
If I ever have to trap and remove a tang, that will be my go to bait.

Any difference other than color from red green and purple?

They are a little different from a nutrition standpoint but not significant. I typically feed red but throw some green in for a change of pace.

I think algae flakes could work also. I used feed them for my flame angel and everything in my tank ate them. Any leftovers the snails made short work of.

I have same issue with a tomini. Granted he has had a free go at the load of red macro ive had growing in my display forever. He wont rouch the sheets of nori though. My refugium is where all the macro originally came from. I take out a bucket every month and my lfs has been very pleased with the supply. I think ill just keep adding it into the display for him to munch on.
Nothing better than homegrown. Lol

They have to be trained. Make it available to them, start with small amount so whatever isn't eaten isn't polluting the water. Can take several days to weeks. Just keep it available and they will start to eat it like mine did.

Yep I like bifs statement. I got a big pack of nori off zon and nobody had anything to do with it. I heat shrunk a paper clip and left it for a few hours the first 3 days nothing, now I come home to en empty paper clip. If you wanna cut the pumps you could try dicing it up like a flake food

Nice vid. Lots of tangs [emoji2]

Once one starts into it the others will take note and try it. They will learn and then eat whole sheets everyday.

Thank you! Unfortunately they are all [emoji88]. I removed all my fish to QT for treatment and let my display go fallow. Not sure exactly what did it but one cold morning half where already dead and moved the other half to my main sump. Either an infection started setting in or the tank got too cold or both. Saddest day in the hobby for me, I still can't believe it.

I think I've got the last problem basically licked, then just a few more weeks and they can go back in. I plan to restock with angels and maybe a Naso. All that's left right now is a Blue Tang, CBB, really nice Picasso clown and a Mated file fish.

Nasos are awesome. I hope u the best.

Rub the nori between your fingers to break up so it floats in water column. They will eat that way. After a few days to week they will begin eating feom clip. You can also rubber band it to a small rock. Fyi hippo tangs are more meat eaters
