Tangs

Yes they start seating at bottom corner somewhere…..n no movement…just breathe may b faster never observed closely..than died
Also as they said u can’t get read of any parasite completely…also I have so many corals…can’t use medication which is harmful to them

I mean... you can't have a parasite if none is ever introduced. They do not synthesize from nothing.

If every fish is QT and every coral is fallowed before added... then ya.. you can have a parasite free tanks. They even have water tests for it now.

I personally would not do an ICP... if your corals are fine then it's not a toxin that's only going to effect new fish. Seems like a waste to me.

Once as I told u I lost 8 fish at same time…just b4 that I added reef energy plus n saw some fish has some mark on them like discoloration zzzn they died so I use prazipro…coz dr reef told me that it’s some kind of parasites

Ya you could catch and remove all current fish, treat them for all known diseases in QT and then let the tank sit fallow for 45 days at 82 degrees or 76-90 days at 78 degrees to starve out parasites. This is the option some people take.

Another option I have seen done is dosing peroxide... information to that is on Humblefishes site. It requires a doser and about 6 weeks of treatment.

The one you can't get rid of is Uronema (well perhaps the peroxide dosing can) but this would not just wipe out tons of tangs.

Tanks are like the plague carriers of the sea kingdom. Aside from being incredibly stupid and dying often to misadventure, they tend to succumb to disease a lot more than other types of fish. I have a single sailfin tang, and my efforts to add a naso tang sadly fared as well as yours.

Agreed Tangs are easily throwing over the immunity threshold... BUT Not if you have an African Cleaner Wrasse cleaning your Tangs on an ongoing basis

Important to note these are AFRICAN cleaners NOT Indo (which die of starvation). Africans will eat the food you offer the other fish, and assimilate into the fish community

They are also excellent at keeping the slimecoat on Tangs very clean.

I wouldn't have Tangs without one being my go-to Utility Fish

Ive had my Hawaiin blue streak 7 years and he eats all foods and goes fish to fish daily to clean

When I introduce new tangs/fish, I always treat with Ruby Rally Pro which is reef safe and covers manyparasitical and bacterial issues. My latest are Powder blue and purple and problem free

Is it worth it….coz reading only negative reviews?
Got a better idea?

They're not very many variables here to consider. You Have either

1)received unhealthy fish every single time and miss the signs of disease while at the same time, miraculously not transferring the disease to your other fish. This is a very unlikely scenario

2) You are receiving healthy fish and something about your acclamation/introduction procedure is killing them (likely)

3) established fish in your display tank are killing them and you are missing the signs of aggression after the fact (likely)

4) there's something going on with your tank chemistry that you don't know of. This also seems an unlikely scenario since you have multiple fish that have stayed healthy in the tank throughout this time.

5) The least likely scenario in my opinion is that your tank has a disease or parasite that your fish have become hardened to, and is killing all new introductions.

The fact that every fish dies the same way, It's me to believe they're being killed by the same thing. I've received multiple fish from Dr Reef and all of them eat.

It’s a very big tank so can’t catching fish is no option…hydrogen peroxide is good option…
How much to dose n how any idea…?

In my 660g I had to remove fish here and there due to aggression and found it easy with a fish trap, Before you say anything about coral, this is what I faced and still caught them

I have a cleaner wrasse (blue, black and white striped). He's constantly attending to the parrotfish but otherwise eats everything - and eats like a pig.
