Hello,

I am new to the forum. I recently bought the 120gallon salt water aquarium from Fieryfrog that he was selling on here. I have never run a saltwater aquarium before so any advice would be much appreciated. So far I've connected the tubing to my sump and am ready to put in sand, water, and rocks. If anyone has extra sand or live rock I'd be happy to trade possibly for a 55 gallon aquarium with filter and lights and the whole setup. Also looking for a protein skimmer that can do 120 gallons.

Also please let me know if my plumbing on the sump looks doomed to fail.

Looks like it should work. Have you leak tested? Also, do you have any way to control the amount of flow from your return pump?

I might also suggest you change some of those metal pipe clamps to something non-metal.

I haven't leak tested yet. And I don't have anything to control the flow from the return. Do you mean like a valve?

Yes, like a valve to control flow. I'm not really familiar with the wet/dry type sump that that appears to be, but I think the flow should be rather slow through it.
I would definitely come up with some way to leak test the plumbing before filling with water.

Sorry, not much advice to give but excited to see another BARFer. I think if you look around Craigslist and Facebook you should have no problem finding some cheap rocks. Be sure to do a build thread!

I don't need anything in a trade but have a few pieces of live rock I'd sell for say $1.10/lb., couple.
Also have a 40 gallon breeder i made into a sump, if you need a sump. I ended up never using the sump.
