Tank all of a sudden cloudy

Tank is cloudy all of a sudden. Earlier saw something cloudy come out of my leather but now everything is cloudy. Tank is just fully cloudy but nothing changed. Any ideas?

Leather corals can release toxin into the water. That is their defensive mechanism. You should run carbon to neutralize it if that is what accursed.

Already have a carbon reactor running but is it safe? Should also a tiny frag release that much.

Not sure what their capabilities are but if you are running carbon it should prevent any leather toxin from causing tank harm. Also trochus snails release their junk into the water periodically which also clouds tanks for a few hours.

I have 13 or 14 tr9cus snails just doing what they do. Carbon is running rn

Sounds like you have it covered. If you find your glass getting dirty and needing daily cleaning that indicates an algae bloom probably but from what you described sounds more like the leather coral caused it. Should go away with carbon and a regular water change to.

carbon for now will help. Do you have any local fish stores nearby or a petco? Most will sell you premixed SW

I do but I wouldn't know the parameters. I have the salt just don't have the clean buckets

Well then it should be fine with a little more time and water change. Maybe replace your carbon if it's been in awhile to.

I hear if you take a good cloudy water sample, dehydrated it....wait. Started out as a joke then I realized someone might actually do it. SMOKING tank water is BAD
