My BioCube 32 Complete reef kit arrived today. Very excited to begin this journey with my students and very thankful to a great administration who see the benefit of this project and agreed to fund it.
I will be assembling the stand first and honestly moving slowly because I may be changing classroom as well.... but will be an exciting next few weeks. I will update throughout.

I also agree with the statement above, I remember being in school and always looking forward to going to science class because of the “critters”.

Thanks I am going to move slow can't completely unpack until tomorrow when my students are here. It came in after class had left for the day. "Critters" do make the class alive though I hatch chickens and quail a few times a semester and the whole school comes alive when the baby birds are here. I teach special education and have a very small class but my class is full of honors students from other classes who are learning from my sped students in the area of animal science and biology all the time. We are also setting up a 400 gal fish farm where we will raise catfish and small vegetables (On a aquaponic raft).

I commend you!

Funny you say that, I graduated with my Bachelors in English education and taught English and then Social Studies for a number of years until I realized the things I was doing outside of school fit into a science classroom perfectly. Now I get to play while I work and the KIDS win.

@James Hammett , you didn't provide location, but if you're located in the New Jersey area, I can supply a full tank of corals for you.......on the house, of course. Great thing you're doing....hope the students appreciate your efforts.

Reminds me of my Biology classes when I was in high school. Best class of the day. :) However, your teacher's desk looks way to clean and organized! LOL
I am way to busy to not be organized fish tanks, fish farms three plans and coaching football full time. plus teaching hunter safety for the state outside of school , raising 4 sons, 8 pigs, 47 chickens, a dog, a cat and being married. Attention to detail is a must... LOL;Playful;Playful
