Hi all,
I recently setup my new 150g tank. Added smart extension board and connected all equipments to it saperately and named all points. Now able to control everything using Alexa/google assistant. I have 2 radion xr30 blue that I can currently only turn on or off from where ever I want but can't control everything else like color, power etc... Any possible way to do that?? As it's via bluetooth so only can control it when m close to it using mobius app ...

Please help me with any suggestions.

Cheaper solution bro cheaper:rolleyes:
Well, you didn't really specify a budget, and you didn't really indicate what you all wanted to control... For the Radions you're stuck with Mobius bluetooth unless you want to invest in the ReefLink -or- wait until the rumoured WiFi upgrade is released. So if this is light specific automation those are your only 2 options.

This is exactly right, except that I don't think the G5 Radions are compatible with ReefLink. There literally is no other choice but the Mobius app for controlling colors on the Radion.

You are correct (good to know for future reference). So basically OP has zero options until Mobius is updated with WiFi support.

Question: besides playing with your new toy, why would you want to remotely change the color or schedule of your light?

There aren't all that many situations where changing something about the light while you aren't there would be necessary, and even less where turning the lights off wouldn't be enough.

I'm not the OP, but I can tell you my answer:

It's not about remotely changing the lights. It's about being able to change the lights from a desktop environment, which is infinitely easier and more precise than trying to do it on a stupid touchscreen phone. Granted, you don't need to (and shouldn't) adjust your lights very often, but it's a pain to pull out the phone, walk over to the tank, jam the phone right up on the lights, and fiddle around with the touchscreen when you could just open up a program on your computer and adjust the levels directly.

Mobius is fine, but I'll take any opportunity I can get to *not* use my phone for something.

That's fair, didn't think of Bluetooth

Ohh thanks, I didn't know any reeflink, I'll explore

It’s not quite as bad as having to stick your phone right up to the lights. I can control mine from anywhere in the house (even a floor up), but there’s no question WiFi would be infinitely mote useful.
Yes it's not bad at all... Actually in my case currently working from home but when office opens I have to go like 2000km away. I don't at all wanna burden my mom and dad so I spent all lot of money to make it least maintanence tank... So I believe only light control is left..

Is there a reason you need to control or program your lights remotely once you’ve established a schedule? I rarely access Mobius unless it’s just to make a minor tweak or set an acclimation period.

U r right, it by default gives us option for dawn and dusk lighting.. I don't have to..

Exactly. Just set your lights on a timer and forget about it. Everyone here seems eager to want throw money at imaginary problems. It’s better to have your lights on a schedule. It’s healthier for your fish and corals.

Don't stress it too much bro, I would guess you're starting out with frags. Just run a steady schedule. Try not to blast them with too much par or they'll bleach. I got 3 noopsyche k2, works for sps at a budget, dumb controls so i won't fiddle much lol and save money for frags and other equipment.
