I remember how many times I changed my mind on how I wanted to close in my tank stand on my 90 gal reef. Many different ideas and finally ended up with this. Hopefully it helps someone down the line that is struggling for ideas.

What it looks like finished.

Sides and front pull apart leaving the back open to relieve condensation.

Made out of 5/8" MDF with multiple coats of 10deg laquer in the inside to help shed condensation. Doors over lap so it gives the appearance of a complete cabinet. When closed you can't tell they are separate sides and false doors.

Top rail hides the separate pieces. Held on by two strong magnets set in flush on each side.

Thanks! It definitely comes handy not having to reach in through a door way to get to something.

I was thinking the same thing. Having to crane your arm at some ridiculous angle trying to avoid the bottles and other things in front to get to some item in the back, and it's too dark to see it. Good solution! :]

Here Is a few pic's of our 150g stand we made at 42" tall

Mine uses magnets too. It's made of walnut veneer, walnut plywood, and walnut hardwood on the edges. It is a retrofit though, so some of the vertical pieces that are for looks didn't line up with the structural pieces:

Those both look awesome! I first tried 2 vanities side by side with a hole cut through them for the sump. Reinforced them like crazy but didn't leave much for clearance and the humidity was building up. I pulled apart before I woke up one morning to a pile of rubble.

Very cool!
