Tank cant keep up with new Return Pump

Good morning everyone.

So I got my new Sicce SDC 9.0 last night and got it installed but I am having one problem. It seems the pump, pumps faster than the tank can drain. I opened the valve all the way and the water was still flowing over the emergency drain making the toilet sound. The only way I could get it to stop was slow the pump down to approx 1,000gph (38%). Any recommendations? I wanted to get closer to 1500 to 2,000gph. I appreciate any help!

A drain can only handle so much water and that is why you size a pump to the drain or get a controllable pump and turn the pump down which is what you did.

You can increase the size of the drain and plumbing. The more bends in your plumbing slow it down too.

Reefer 525XL. I believe the drain is approx 1 inch? I Checked the piping, doesn't appear to be a clog.

A drain can only handle so much water and that is why you size a pump to the drain or get a controllable pump and turn the pump down which is what you did.

You can increase the size of the drain and plumbing.

Compared to my old pump, this one is crazy powerful, even at 38% its out matching it (Was running a smaller simplicity pump from my old tank). Do you think approximately 1,000gph is sufficient for my tank? I went so big on the pump because id rather run it at under 50% than maxed out at 100% like my old one.

I run a VarioS 4 on my 120 and it maxes out at 1056 gph with no head pressure.
I honestly do not like allot of flow through my sump.

Hmm, I just did basic math. It says its at 38% so figured 38% of 2500 is approx 950. Its definitely more power than the old one I had, loving it so far.

That is for a gravity drain. A 1" siphon can handle more than that.

I was running a Simplicity 1600DC, and LOVED IT. The only thing is I felt like I lost a ton of head pressure at my return nozzles. This one is only at 38% and is probably 3x as powerful at the top.
