Tank cleaning question

So I tested out my theory today and it worked better than I expected.

Spent a little under $10 for 4 gallons of vinegar, filled the sump with about 20 gallons of water and let it sit overnight for a leak check. Today all of the crusty stuff that I thought I was going to have to take a razor blade to wiped right off with no effort. Only downside was I smelled like vinegar all day no matter how much I washed up.

Did some searching and the only arm length gloves I found was at the Rural King store (the ones used for getting all up in the back of livestock). That helped with the vinegar odor later in the afternoon but was easily punctured with the pipe cleaner scrubbers I was using for the tight areas.

That is great! Wish I could clean a fully loaded tank that quickly! :D. I hope your tank works out for you now. :D

I gave up. Tried the pressure washer, scrubbing pads, spraying on vinegar and then spraying on CLR. I got the vast majority of it out but couldn't get it all. I'm sure adding enough vinegar to go with the 120 gallons of water would have worked but that would have had it's own challenges. It is more than good enough at this point.

If you put a pair of latex gloves on over the arm length gloves they will be a little more durable, and fit a little better.

I am happy that you have arrived at a point where you are able to call it good. Now onto the next step. ;)
