So my son's 2 year old 30 gal fowlr tank decided to spring a leak yesterday. About 5 gallons on water leaked before it was noticed.

Tank was in bedroom, so carpet got wet. Used shop vac to suck up most of water, towels too. Running box fan over the area last night and tonight. Area seems to be almost dry.

Any suggestions or advice regarding cleaning the carpet, etc. worried about pad being damp and getting that dry, plus salt precipitation. Etc.

Thanks.

The best thing to do is just pull up the carpet from the nearest corner and put a fan over all the stuff underneath if you have a newer home the carpet comes up really easy you just have to tuck it back under the baseboard
