Went on vacation for a week. Come home to tank crashed and lost all invertebrates and fish and most corals. (Looks like automatic feeder malfunctioned and dumped all the food at once triggering an ammonia spike and that then just snowballed into everything dying) Tank is a 15 gallon all in one, I did a 100% water change immediately and pulled out all the dead livestock. The next day did another 50% water change. Left some zoas and toadstools in tank in hope that they would pull through. But now it looks like the toadstools are just melting. If I cut off the tops, would that spur the remained to regrow, or should I just pull from tank because they are far to gone?

Melted toadstool is detritus that doesn’t resurrect ime.

If you keep anything make sure it is still alive. It’s gross but sometimes your nose is the most reliable instrument for determining what is alive and what isn’t.

Run fresh carbon, chemipure, polyfilter, etc to improve water quality, and make sure the water is moving good to keep it oxygenated.
