I have a 150 gallon tank with a foxface lionfish clown snowflake eel dog puffer and blue hippo tang. I am currently doing a copper treatment for ich which was added 5 days ago. 2 hours ago i added some water clarifier and all of the sudden the fish started to act weird and gasp for air. They started to drop to the floor. I put them in qt with stress coat and raised the ph. Ph in display was at 7 after adding clarifier. Some fish recovered but foxfave is laying on side breathing heavy puffer turning a brownish color and lionfish staying in the bottom. I still have my eel in display i tried to raise ph on that also. What should i do to save fish and whay caused this.

Sounds like oxygen depravation if they were gasping for air. Probably from adding the clarifier. If u have an air stone or power head you can point it at the surface to provide more oxygenation. Let's get some more eyes on this. #reefsquad

I added them to a 5 gallon quarantine with an air stone in it, looks like foxface is breathing quickly and heavy now my koran angel and clown are swimming and my lionfish is sitting on bottom

You added stress coat and a water clarifier in a copper treated tank?

I added water clarifier but thats seems to be what the problem was, after i put them in the quarantine which isnt copper treated i added stress coat

If the water clarifier contained an ammonia reducer there is a known toxic reaction with some forms of copper which can wipe out a tank. The ammonia reducer turns the copper toxic and if this is the case your only hope at this point is a very large water change and a lot of aeration.

I have them in a quarantine tank right now so its not copper treated or anything, some recovered but what can i do to help the others

pump all the systems with as much air as possible.
get the emergency tank stable. use live rock or rubble to do it and keep the ammonia down..
yea if you put it in the copper one you shouldn't etc etc use it but id rater lose rock than fish.
use slow water changes, id use old tank water over fresh mixed for a million reasons.
get the fish stable, deal with prophylactic meds later.

All the fish look fone so far, i have no love rock that wasnt used in display. What should i do with the main tank and how long can fisb stay in the quarantine for

the concern in the qt is ammonia. you need the bacterial soaked sponge media from qt anything in there or a piece of live rock. you can keep ammonia it down with wc or prime bacteria etc but the best fastest is rock.
bag of carbon used in either anything.

personally id go with rock in this kind of emergency.

you can rise the rock, fresh water, tap water, rodi etc.

personally im more concerned with ammonia than ick at this point.

what a crap turn of events. Im so sorry.

Id go buy a cheep 10 gallon at petco and do 50% water changes every 3rd day till you get your main tank under control.

I had a little hang on the back filter on the display, should i put that on the quarantine.

If you have pvc decor etc. they'll like someplace to hide

Okay, now in the main what should i do with the water that still has copper , should i mix new water or leave it and add carbon.

Ive kept all my QT fish that way. With weekly 50% water changes and they did fine. Easiest way to rid ammonia without using live rock in a quarantine tank. Most people don't use live rock on a qt.
Understood. For an experienced keeper. Sure. For the new maybe not.

Folks don't use rock anymore because that haven't read the books. Let's not debate. The other way works too but in emergency. Tank water and rock. Fast easy safe stable.

what can i do to help the others

You can try a methyline blue dip to help heal any damage the clarifier caused when added to the copper treated tank. Never add anything like that to a tank with copper. They can cause a reaction with the copper that causes it to become extremely toxic to fish. Just having them out of the tank can help a lot as you can see, but the dip may help the ones that are effected the worst.
