Hello everyone,

New to the Aquarium world. I am trying to Cycle my first ever Saltwater Aquarium. I did a lot of research and decided I did not want to harm any fish during this process and bought Dr Tims Ammonia and Dr Tims one and only Bacteria. After a week and a half I have tested with the Red Sea Marine Care Test Kit. My Ammonia is off the chart, its blue currently. Nitrite is 0.5 and Nitrate is 50+. Is this normal or should I be worried?

It’s fine. You can add more bacteria or some live rock if you want to speed it up.

Thanks for the response! I will buy more bacteria and see how that goes. I bought a Caribsea Liferock kit and am using that currently so no live rock.

No need to add more bacteria (not that it would hurt) - NO2 is being produced, so things are progressing. Ammonia will drop and NO2 will climb until ammonia is essentially cleared.
