Alrighty, time to take the plunge. Looking for a 6ft, 120g ish tank. Here is what ive narrowed down.

Waterbox Reef 180.5
Redsea Reefer 625 G2

OR!

Used? Gentleman is selling this glass, unknown brand tank for 1600 with sump... would be around 1/4 of the price of going new. Good or bad idea?

If you want to consider acrylic @Tenecor Aquariums has some setups as well that come with stands, pumps, etc included as well. They can also custom build!

@Joe Glass Cages is another one of you wanted a custom glass setup!

If you can afford it I would alway go new as you don’t know how old it is or what it’s been thru . Plus with new usually there is a warranty

That's all I have room for realistically.

edit: I see, since I was saying 6ft in my original post. 6ft was the max. 5 will be nice to have room to work with.

Its a beauty of a tank from what have seen when looking it up for your other thread. I actually like the idea of the deeper front to back over the extra foot of width. The one problem I have with tanks is when they go taller. With reef tanks specifically, taller is not really better. (My own opinion). The lights cant penetrate through that much water to adequately light the stuff on the sand or lowest levels. The ones that can reach that depth are so bright at the upper level that they burn everything to a crisp.

Well, what's the story with the used tank? Is he the original owner? How old is it? Have you seen it? Are there scratches?

I believe that the water box and the Red Sea aquariums are low iron. The used aquarium is almost certainly standard glass. Standard glass has a decided blue green tint to it. The low iron is a major upgrade if you prefer that look (and I do). But it is your tank. I am just pointing out that the aquarium is not really comparable. Of course, if you want to start lower end and get a feel for the hobby, you can go used and get an idea of what you like.
