Good night to all.
Thinking about building my own tank and would like some info.
Was wondering what is the recommended glass thickness for a tank measuring L7'xW31"xH22"
Also those the bottom glass have to be thicker than the rest ?

3/4" would work fine for that tank, and as long as you support the bottom with a proper stand there should be no reason to make the glass any thicker. Wish you the best of luck! Keep us updated with build pictures!

Thank you for the info. I will be posting the build. Would like to make the back glass the overflow with the box on the outside of the glass

What you guys think about acrylic? Thinking of going that route 3/4 thick.

I want to do a coast to coast overflow on the outside back wall what should the H x w be of the overflow box be ? Also those any one know where I can get a part to add on to the back to be used as a surface skimmer as the acrylic company is giving me a hard time to cut the spaces on the back wall for me ?

Any info would be a great help.

Unless you are going rimless, 3/4 is insanely overkill. If euro braced you could use 3/8 on the sides and 1/2 on the bottom. But, I would go 1/2" all the way around.

I have built many tanks over the years and have never had issues with any I built.
