Hi all I just bought this 225 acrylic tank some reason there is holes drilled near the bottom any ideas of why and how to use them...the one hole is about 3 1/4 inch around?

Watcha mean...maybe just cap them or can they be used for something

Yes, most likely a closed loop. Either use it for a closed loop or cap it with some bulkheads.

What's a closed loop if you for mind me asking? And can you even buy a bulkhead that big?

A closed loop is where you have a pump with pipe that just circulates water around your tank.....in lieu of powerheads (or supplimenting them). And the holes don't look that big....and even so, you can find bulkheads very large. I'd start at Glass-Holes.

Here's the hole on the left..in gonna buy a couple jebao rw15s for it what do you think would be the best option for plugging it?

I would put in a 2 inch bulkhead (with FPT) and plug it up with a threaded plug.

I'm not sure if you can get a slip plug at 2"...but that might be another option.

the left hole looks larger than the right hole. my bet is a closed loop was used. as said, just throw a bulkhead in each and cap em if you dont plan to use a Closed loop

I would machine out some blue acrylic plugs and use WO-40 to seal them off. If you wanted to get all crazy, machine a rabbit on both the tank and your plugs, then 40 them in. This way you wouldn't get any light bleed through. If you need any blue plugs, let me know what thickness the tank is, and hit me up. J
