Tank Emergency!

Just saw my tank that I got has a cracked bottom rim on the corner, can I fix it or is it not worth the risk?

Those are rimless tanks, they are designed to have to rim, they use thicker glass and more silicone. This type needs the rim or it will explode

Sorry shep I had the same problem even with the rim I guess the power heads just splits it at the seems with the flow we use. Doller sale at petco right now tho and I'd put extra silicone on it. Sorry again sir

Well the good news is I got a new an aqueon tank for $40 which is $40 less! The silicone job on the outside seems is kind of rough looking so I might add a little extra just to be safe.

Aqueon ain't known for their attention to detail. I wouldn't trust them to build a big tank, but a 40 breeder should be fine.

You'll be okay. Extra silicone can't hurt though

Dont sweat it. Im using a aqueon 40b for my frag system and its fine.
