Tank fail at macna

I went to macna and had a blast, but when I returned home I found that not only did my lights fail, but so did the filtration pump. The good news is that it was my qt and had no livestock, just lr cycling and planned my first drop this week. I bought an iced mocha clown from sa and won a bunch of corals from live aquaria. So I just transferred everything over to the dt and is the first time anything has gone over without first going in the qt. Pics to come but it's not all scared yet just tossed in p

Things happen a lot when you are out of town...

the title of the thread made me think the tank itself failed. glad it was just the filter and lights considering.

I thought one of the tanks at MACNA had failed when I first read it.

What was the cause of the light and pump failure? Seems like an odd combo to go out at the same time.

Sorry to disappoint everyone, no major mishap at MACNA that I noticed... although all bets are off after 3 on sun!

I am not sure why the lights failed, although I suspect it had something to do with subsequent power failures; they were plugged into a surge control but from what I am understanding is that it wasn't total power outage, more like a brownout. As for the pump I asked someone to top off the tank which didnt happen so it was smoking hot when I went to start acclimating everything,

Here are the promised pics, hopefully I'll be scaping tomorrow night... Need to order a cuc quickly as I thought I'd be putting a fish in the qt and the lr in the dt with a cuc over the next 5 weeks. Though I admit it is nice to have something swimming already I am still fairly worried about all that can transfer on shells and such.
