I am looking at a tank 72x30 that needs a top and bottom frame. Just wondering if anyone knows where I can buy or have one made. I am considering trying to have a piece of stainless bent and welded together. Any suggestions
Jeff

I don’t think I would use stainless because I’ve read about SS clamps rusting that people were using on hoses in the sump area. This what you’re looking for?

Jj0os I was going to use that company for my tank, but ended up building something out of wood, like a euro brace with 1x3's it work really well and I have confidence in it since I overbuilt it.

I did look them up but the frame is only available in 18in depth.
stainless is available in quite a few different mixtures of metal composition, some much better at not rusting. Im guessing the clamps are made of a cheaper stainless.
Im actually thinking of going with some euro bracing topped with either a stainless or aluminum welded frame. Of course it all depends on getting the tank.
thanks

I’ve also seen industrial tanks made of SS for wine rust. I’m not say that there isn’t a more resistant SS but you are talking about salt water.

Aluminum is more rust resistance, but has a greater chance of failing if not done properly. SS is ridiculously expensive and still has a chance of rusting. If you get SS I would still suggest powered coating it. At that point why not use standard steel and buy more coral!
