So my tank hits one year tomorrow and I started tank with all dry rock and one seeded small live rock full of coraline algae. The rocks are slowly turning purple but not sure why I don’t have any growing anywhere else it’s doesn’t blow off the rocks so I’m not sure if it is or not and I can’t keep sps alive either I struggle with it but easy corals such as zoas and palys grow fine and grow heads like crazy even have an anemone in tank for 4 months and is doing great I love the tank just not sure why she is not thriving it’s frustrating.

Also run a hob filter and hob refugium.

Check your TDS. When I was running a mixed tank I would always get brown algae and corals just doesn't seem to be doing good in a 2 years tank. I never ran a rodi unit as I thought 11 tds coming out the tap was good already. Switched to a 4 stage RODI unit eventually and after a couple months of using it my algae was gone and my corals looked healthier.

Should also check your par too as and acros do best in 250-350 par.

What do you mean by your sps dying? Are they bleaching or browning?
