Tank is almost 6 weeks, cyano coming

Guys,

Just wanted to update on the 60 cube. Diatoms are completely(at least 95%) gone, the water has become crystal clear, and all my sps seem to be happy. Went to see Corey in Montgomery. Awesome guy and absurd sps tank and frags. I highly recommend a visit. Anyways I saw this afternoon the start of the dreaded cyano bloom I've always had with new tanks. Any new methods for stopping this in its tracks or getting through it quickly? Nitrates are at 5. Phosphates at. 2-. 23. Confirmed by salifert and Hanna. I bought one of those eheim gravel cleaners that might really comes in handy when I want to syphon without water changes. Any thoughts or ideas? It's in the earliest of stages now. Barely visible but I know what I'm seeing. Thanks!

Every time I get it, it usually means my ro filters need changed.

Try some Phosban or Phosguard. Look to increase flow if that is applicable.

siphoning it out with water changes is always a good strategy.

BTW I would recommend against some of the products that use antibiotics to get rid of it such as chemiclean.

They work short term, but my experience is there is always a follow up bloom that is worse or another kind of algae comes in and takes it place after its gone.
