Tank is only 1 day old. Ph is below 7

just put water in my tank yesterday to start the cycle process. I’ve installed my apex and the ph has stayed below 7 or just slightly above. I tested (not a reliable brand) the fresh saltwater and the calcium was at 400 and the alk was at 10. Salinity was a high At 39ppt. I tested the water because the salt I used Was crap and it didn’t mix well at all. There was a white film over evert. I thought it precipitated.

I’m still trying to research but not sure if it is the CO2 Haven’t tried the outside air thing yet. I don’t have a ph test kit. only the apex prone.

I would wait about 2 weeks and recalibrate the probe. Don’t worry about pH until after that (if at all).

it dips as low as 7.6 at night. I run a fuge at night.

Whats your phosphates and nitrates at? Did you start with dry rock and sand?

Phosphate at .1, nitrate 8.7 I have live rock from live gulf rock and I used live sand. The rock and sand have only been in the tank since Tuesday.

Watch the macro so it doesn't bottom out nutrients.

The level of CO2 in the place where aquarium is placed usually drives pH, high CO2, low pH

I'm betting pH measurement issues with your probe or tank aeration issues.

Run a cup aeration test to figure out which....
