Tank kind of cloudy

So I just started this tank and added water only 4 days ago but it seems kind of foggy/cloudy is everything okay? Powerhead are running.

you could try running carbon to help clear it but it looks like the sand storm generally from filling the tank it should clear up in a few days

I don't see where there is a filter or enough water to flow into a sump. Your filter will help clear this up. Use of carbon will also help

Yeah, probably just dust from the new rocks. Do you have any filter socks running? That should help, along with general settling

I don't see any filter running on it, even throw a Hang on back filter on it to help it out.... I actually have 2 HOB filters on deck for certain situations. On our 29g we are using a HOB and when we blow the rocks off with a turkey baster and blow the sand out we throw an extra one on there to help clean stuff up. seems to work pretty well with no ill effects on the tank.

it may clear up in few days, but it needs a filter on there and it will also help with water agitation.

Just waiting on my hang on the back protein skimmer to arrive just through water in it to get the rock going but thank you! Will be adding a sump within the next month.

I would def run a in sump skimmer if you can.

I have a hob skimmer coming just for the time being I already have a in sump skimmer that I will be placing in sump once it set it up.

I wouldn’t run carbon on a new tank..let it cycle then add carbon after the ugly phase ends. Definitely get a simple mechanical filter of some sort.

Agree with the above. You'll just add dust the carbon sleeve or whatever.

Just get something you can rinse and run it through.

No need for carbon on a new tank in my opinion. Either let the sand settle on it’s own or put in some filter socks or pads to speed up he process.

How would I run filter socks without a sump what’s the best to use?
