Ok, this isn't quite "911 emergency", it's more like "dude, go to a doctor". Setting up a used Marineland-type 125, just dropped in the dry rock today. Noticed what appeared to be salt flakes from a spot on the bottom frame. When I wiped them off, I noticed my finger was wet. Dried the spot, tries again....wet. Not had a single droplet form, nor seen any wet spots on the open 2x4 frame below. Been full and running for over a week, never noticed it before.

Obviously this is not good, I was planning on ordering live rock this week. What should I do?

Start over.....your in a position that noting critical will die from this but it still sucks. You can still keep a lot of the water and bacteria going by putting the sand and the rock you do have as well as w/e water fits into 1 or more brute containers and then put a pump and heater in for flow and temp. I would see what you can do to either fix the tank or get your money back. I'm sorry to hear/see this. This is obviously just my opinion but I personally don't know a better option. Good luck

From a person who has had leaks, place everything in rubbermaid tubs abd dry the whole area inside if tank, scrspe away old/disformed silicone , alcohol wipe clean and resilicone area with aquarium sealant such as all glass or aqueon brand for 24-36 hours then refill and leak test

Super frustrated right now. If I have to empty the whole thing to POSSIBLY find and fix a leak, it makes me question the integrity of the entire tank. Almost rather just buy a brand new one and start over. If I had an extra grand laying around......

I sealed a 360 gallon . Was worth it

Not saying what you should do, but if it were me I would probably feel the same way and never trust the tank.

January is a year for with a 360g. If you do it right, will be worth it. Would have cost me $2400 to replace tank. In my case was a $8 tube of tank sealant and a $.98 bottle of rubbing alcohol.
Here is tank today:

I don't doubt you at all. Just saying that I'd always worry about it and it would drive me insane. Not that it doesn't work. I'm sure it does.

Understandable my friend and many of us have been through it. It sucks. I resealed a used 300g and it as vetteguy53081 writes is worth it.

BTW, I have relatives in Iowa. What part do you live in? I love your state and the food as well. Tenderloin sandwiches and maid-rites. Oskaloosa is where they live. Nice folks up there in the midwest.

This is why I normally like to buy new tanks....a new $125 shouldn't cost more than $300

Dont chance it, 125g of water aint gunna be fun to clean up. A leaking silicone can only get worse. Resealing is easy as long as you clean the old silicone off properly, kind of satisfying actually when you run your finger over the corner and get a perfect looking seal :p

If you’re nervous there is no reason not to have a professional do it. Many good aquarium stores have people that can do it.

Clear Lake, north central. About 2 hours from Minneapolis and Des Moines on I35. It's a great place to live cuz it's really cheap living and small town values. The food is good when it comes to meat and potatoes, a bit lacking in everything else lol
