Tank leaking?- underwater repair?

Nothing wrong with using that silicone. I'm sure it's just rebranded regular 100% silicone (with an inflated price tag)

$18 bucks. Is that good or bad lol?

on a tank that small.. silicone is silicone. Wait a day to refill.

and FYI.. a matt is not necessary under "ANY" tank if you have a solid stand with a flat no deflecting top.

My 300 rimless glass tank... no matt. My 600 gallon acrylic.. also no mat.

About 200% more than GE silicone 1. But whatever. $9 in reefing... meah.

yes after new silicone dries 48-72 hrs test w fw for 24-48 ,would try to center on surface,looks like lil overhang,and lastly.no no no on flex seal not going to hold been there tried that,glass and acrylic,best wishes,show us how it worked for you

i tried the 4" tape on a blown 75 side seam, pi zz ing stream ,inside and out ,slowed it down ,duct tape x many times around tank held long enough to tub full reef ,luckily i was sitting right there when it started ,middle of front corner

Flexseal does not work on marine tanks. I personally tried it and wasted money.

For tank repair, using sharp razor blade. . remove All silicone at both sides of the seams, Run razor straight across when done to assure you got itt all. Then clean entire area with rubbing alcohol which will dry on its own. No cloth of any kind. Apply the sealnt liberally along the entire seam and smooth with a Wet finger and allow to dry at least 30 hours. thereafter , perform a freshwater test and let it sit overnite to assure no leaks, then repack the tank

I've used this same technique successfully. Some people say to pull the panels apart and get some silicone in between the panels. Sounds great but alot more work. What are your thoughts on that?

I would not as you may find yourself redoing the entire tank due to pulling apart.
I owned a full line pet store for well over a decade and repaired over 70 tanks for customers and only two leaked (seeped) out of 70

Silicone does NOT bond with silicone. Nuff said about pulling it apart and adding more.
