High everyone iam pretty new here . I been in the hobby for over 6 months ran into alot of trail and error . I all was battling high nitrate. Today I took my reading and for every thing here they are
Nitrate is 58.6
Phosphate 0.44
Nitrites 0.5
Amone 0

Any idea on what I can do to lower nitrate

First 20% water changes will help lower the nitrate. Then Chaeto/ algae scrubber to maintain it.im not big fan of additives since they cause more harm than good.

Welcome to R2R!

Have you thoughts about a Refugium with Chaeto to help manage nitrates?

Maybe you feeding to much and not enough water changes, either or either or combination if both ?
Maybe not enough cuc
Could be lots different things combined and just need keep tweaking it till you find the balance

Nitrate very high but before accepting such reading, what test kits are you using ?

Your targets are :
Temp 77-79
ph 8.1-8.3
salinity 1.025
nitrate < .5
phos < .04
Ammonia < .03
mG 1300
Alk 8-10
CA 440

There is a slight imbalance between phosphates and nitrates .

ammonia and nitrite are irrelevant and once cycled testing these parameters often isn’t required as they should be zero

you need to find what’s contributing to the high nitrates .

heavy in , heavy out . Employ cheato , algae scrubbers etc .
something to export nutrients .
There was no mention of a skimmer , filter socks or what’s used ?
How often are they cleaned or changed ?
What’s your water source ?
have you tested tds going ?

What's cuc this set up
Unsure if you asking what's "cuc" or saying you
Don't need cuc because you have set up that you've got.
If asking what's cuc then it's clean up crew aka snails, hermits, urchins etc, anything that cleans up after fishes waste and generally just cleans up the tank whether that's algae or detritus or whatever
