For those of you with tank lids, what are you using? I've got a 75G Marineland that is cycling and I'm not real sure about the 2 glass tops that came with it. It's got the black plastic piece in it that keeps the 2 pieces of glass together (why in the world do they need to make it black). Not sure if that is going to block much light from my LEDs, so I'm looking at possibly looking at other options ;)

Dum..... right?

Love to see others solutions too.

I have the same tank and the glass held a lot of heat. I made one from eggcrate but a lot of people use the screen type from brs

1/4" clear screen and a window screen kit.

Glass tops are a horrible idea for the saltwater tank, the salt spray will block all your light and you will end up cleaning them nonstop. Just leave it open, looks the best.

I'd love to leave it open, but will have some jumpers...

Questions on the BSR do-it-yourself screen mesh kit:
1) Any benefit for 1/4" vs. 1/8"...and vice versa
2) For having room for cords coming out of the tank...so do you just cut a small whole in the mesh?

Bulk Reef Supply 1/4" screen. Just go to their web site and search "screen". It will come right up. Best cover I've ever had. Not a jumper since I installed it four years ago.

I didn't use the BRS screen tops, but I did build my own from window screen i got at Home Depot. Works like a charm and is cheap.

I found some egg crate that was thinner than most I seen and only a little thicker than screen I like it but I use halides

1/8" screen for me. My wrasses could fit the 1/4". If the head fits so will the rest of the fish
