Tank light question

It's hard to distinguish between the two by looking at pics, I'd say it's dinos because of the stringy looking algae with bubbles.

Here's a couple pics

I was hoping I could get by with just my skimmer and cheato in the sump, it didn't grow hardly at all neither. I've seen a lot of tanks without an ats or gfo and I was hoping I could do without one still lol. If I did these would I have to continue using one? Maybe I've just got lucky for along time without em. My cleanup crew is good too.

Its hard to tell if you cant zoom in more. The problem is the sandbed accumulated tons of poo and food. Thats lots of po4. Its a never ending po4 battle for all of us.

So I've added my cleanup crew two months ago including snails, hermits and a cleaner shrimp and I c them slowly dieing, could this have to do with eating this certain algae? I thought I've read somewhere it could be tied with either Dino's or diatoms? I could be wrong to

I'm also trying to decide on what to do? But I think I need to narrow down on what it is first

So I woke up the other morning and was checking out my tank and my female clown died and was at the bottom of the tank with a few crabs dead by it also. So I got all that out did a water change and added carbon and gfo. So now my corals are pale and I've lost a couple sps's. My los and zoas look good still. What should I do next?
