Ow long can corals go without grow-lights
My light somehow got knocked into my tank idk how long it was there I hope it doesn’t kill anything. But I don’t have the money to buy a new one for a week or so. I’m hoping this one will dry out and be fine but on the safe side.

Depends on the type of coral. Generally no more then 4 to 5 days safely. Is there anyone around you that could loan you something short term? Something is better then nothing.

I agree with the 4 to 5 day mark. In addition, given that this is salt water and salt residue will remain even if the water has evaporated, I would not recommend using it as there can be a risk of electrical short and fire going forward, it's just not worth it.

Couldn't the OP go to Home Depot and buy a clip on light and a grow bulb. I imagine some light is better than none. At least in the short term?

Corals on their way to us spend days in the dark, some vendors even ramp down lights in preparation of shipping them. When they are collected they spend who knows how long in the dark. During heavy storms they go a week wothout light. Ime they handle a black out quite well, its the reverse too much light when things go down hill quickly.

I put a random non coral led I had from freshwater tank on it for now. It has lots of corals. Bubble tip. Frogspawn torch hammer devels hand toadstool Yuma mushrooms gsp pulsing Xenia red cap Duncan’s

Anyone know cheap good light for 36g bow the light I had is no longer available

why is it whenever someone says, "what's a good CHEAP blahblahblah" I get a nervous tic. lol.

I envision ppl driving up to a fast food drive-thru windows asking if they have any 8oz filet mignon on their $1 value menu.

lol
