i can use some help. I’m looking to convert my braced 120 gal tank to rimless. These are the dimensions. 48x24x24. All panels are 3/8” thick. With 2 12x24 braces on each end leaving the center open. Can I remove these braces or do I need to make a thicker tank.

My personal experience is DO NOT remove the braces.
They are there for a reason.
If you remove the braces and don’t re-engineer the tank it will eventually fail.

Those braces sound weirdly placed to be of any help for the long panels.

3/8" gives you a safety factor of around 2,8 which is too small for unbraced (safety factor of 5 is recommended).

I would do a eurobrace along the top of the tank. Helps with spills and jumping fish too.
