What's out there and works
I'm considering a monitor for the basics
PH, Salinity, Temp, Alk?

Most monitors go by the hobby terms of controllers. Apex or GHL should get you what you want.

As for working, the probes drift and need replaced and calibrated more than you might like. IMO, they are OK for monitoring, but I would not trust any of them without another source for verification.

One of the few monitors I can think of is the Hanna one. It doesn’t have alkalinity though.
