Looking for recommendations on essentials in a dedicated fish room. Will be making a tank move, likely to a home wirh unfinished basement. Not sure the available space at this time.
Looking for feedback on essentials you wish you would have added to your fish rooms or things that you found very helpful and convenient.
I'm starting very broad, but looking at:
1. Utility sink
2. Work benches/countertops
3. Raised stands to hold 65 gallon water tanks for RODI storage.
4. Possibly even electrical outlets all over if the tank ends up being in a place the cords can be run through the walls to a fish room behind it.
5. If the above is true, then a typical steel workbench with top from lowes or somewhere to hold the sump at a more reasonable working height. Would like to not have to be on the ground for any maintenance work.
-----------
Outside the fish room, electricians out there with recommendations on outlets and amp circuits? Will be running 2x 400 watt halides and 2x 5ft OR3 LED bars. Total lighting watts will be 1210W with all of those running with brief overlap. Halides will otherwise run about 6-7 hours and the LED bars to make up the remaining 12 hour photoperiod when those are off. That on top of all the other equipment. Don't want it being an energy hog and always kicking the breaker.
Then just any basic building knowledge. Having 2x4s or whatever of beamd available to actually mount equipment. I just have an aluminum stand currently. And its terrible. Nothing can be mounted to it easily. Certainly want something sturdy and clean to have all the power bricks attached, cords managed, well ventilated etc.
